Google Calendar Receives Update, Make Calls and Open Maps App Right From Notifications
Default calendar Android app is one of the many Android users will never get outside-it comes pre-installed on Android phone a lot and would probably be enough for most people's needs.

Add notification is easy, you simply click the day you want to add. It will then be another screen appears allowing you to enter the details and set reminders. Neat, you can also automatically set the status to busy at that time so you are not disturbed and set the permissions to enter privacy, depending on whether you want to be public or private (if you share your calendar).
There is also option to set the entry to repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. You can also choose every day for it to be repetitive.
One of my complaints about Google Calendar, however, is that he doesn't have a particularly flexible homescreen widget options.
